Bursa Grand Mosque
Bursa Grand Mosque is situated in the center of Bursa and represents one of the main monuments of early Ottoman architecture.
It was built as a royal project of Sultan Bayezid I and the construction was completed in 1399. The mosque that actually symbolizes a change of architectural pattern represents a move from the Seljuk tradition to the Ottoman style.
Its large prayer room has twenty domes which rest on massive stone columns.
Four giant Islamic calligraphy panels inside the mosque decorate the walls and they are the reflection of the spiritual and artistic life of the first Ottoman capital.
