St Polykarp Church

This century-old Christian church in Izmir, Turkey, was named after the famous early Christian martyr and bishop to Smyrna, St. Polykarp.

Having been built for the first time in the fourth century, the St. Polykarp Church has undergone several restorations. Spectacular in its architecture, it features an intricate altar and elaborate murals.

Open to all visitors interested in knowing and learning about early Christianity, it remains a Christian heritage site.
