Istanbul Old City
Old City has a long and layered history; it was first founded by Byzantium in the 7th Century BC. In 1985, it was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites considering its monumental importance and its outstanding universal significance covering many important pieces of art from Byzantine and Ottoman times.
